Baby grand piano has yet to be played

By Brenna Lollar, Matrix Staff Writer – Issue 4, News – On the stage in the auditorium, there is a box, lined with carpet, containing two objects worth thousands of dollars: two pianos, a baby grand worth about $10,000 and an upright worth a couple hundred dollars. Both are pristine and never played.

By Will Drabold, Matrix Freeland Writer – Issue 4, Feature – Battle of the Bands, one of the biggest annual events at Athens High School, brings hundreds of people together for the express reason of giving high school musicians a chance to prove their talent. The event also generates thousands of dollars for the Junior Class which is instrumental in their planning of events for the rest of the year, including Prom. However, this year’s BOTB was mired in controversy prior to the show and the success of BOTB was uncertain.
