Athens High School is a tundra. Coming outside from the hot air, it is nice to cool off a moment. But freezing all day in chairs that completely absorb every ounce of cold air? No, thank you.

Matrix sound off: What are we not allowed to say?

What is the Matrix allowed and not allowed to say? Is this censorship an infringement of rights, or a measure taken to protect students?
Are you being challenged enough in class?

Students at AHS may not be as challenged by their classes as they would like to be.

I’m writing this piece on Monday, March 12, 2012. I woke up today exhausted; an inconvenient daylight savings took place yesterday, and at 6:30 a.m. it was cold and dark and rainy. Athens High speaks out: Healthy foods are not wanted

From Jan. 3 to Jan. 16 a salad of dark, leafy greens was offered to Athens High School Students. The salad was an experiment; the School Board wanted to know if students would actually buy healthy lunches. To my dismay, the “experiment” failed due to lack of support. Athens High students are offered tater tots, nachos, pizza, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and iceberg lettuce salads daily for lunch. If that doesn’t raise eyebrows, I don’t know what will.
